A couple months ago the idea was brought up to add some LaunchDM flavor to the blank walls of our new studio. After all members of the team gave this idea the nod of approval to move forward, LaunchDM Creative Nick Belcher began laying out and devising a game plan. The thought process was to infuse LaunchDM branding elements into the existing wall colors, utilizing those same wall colors, to create one cohesive design that would bleed from one room to the next. First, Nick took photos around the studio of where we wanted to paint something. Then he created digital mockups of the designs in Photoshop so we could see what they would look like before we start painting.
Once Nick created all of the elements that we would be using, we enlisted the help of a digital projector to project the designs on designated walls. After tweaking, measuring, fine tuning and more measuring, we were ready to create a pencil outline tracing from the projections onto the walls. Once the outlines were complete, we picked up our paint brushes and got to work! Using latex based paint for detailed, precision painting was definitely a challenge, but it covered very well and in most places only needed one coat. When most of our work revolves around a computer, it was awesome to take a break from staring at a screen and throw some paint around!
After hours of hard work, we turned those blank walls into works of art. I will let the below photos speak for themselves. If you would like to see our handy work in person and a full tour of the studio, feel free to contact us anytime!
