Meet our newest graphic designer, Nick Belcher.
Q: Tell us 3 things we’d be surprised to know about you.
A: Let’s see. Well, I’ve been a guitarist for about 10 years. I play both acoustic and electric. I’m also a huge tattoo enthusiast. I plan to get many more, I’m just waiting for the right time and artists for the work I want. Also, within the past couple years I’ve gotten into the art of bonsai. To the surprise of many people, bonsai isn’t actually a breed of tree. It’s an art form encompassing balance, patience, and manipulation. You can bonsai almost any breed of tree. You’re just keeping that tree small and in a pot. If the tree were to be planted outside to grow on its own, it would grow large like any other tree.Â
Q: If you could travel back in time and live in any past era, when would you choose?
A: This is a tough question. I’d probably say the 1920s just for the awesome hair, mustaches, and great cars.
Q: Where do you think your best creative ideas come from?
A: My best ideas come from a lot of things. I’d have to say my experiences in general. The way I pull something off the shelves; the way I open and read a book; the way I use an app on my phone. I’m constantly thinking about how I would try to make something better or easier to use. I use those experiences to push my ideas creatively, whether it be in designing a website, packaging for a product, or anything in between.
Q: In 4 words, how would you describe your personal creative style?
A: The questions asking to describe yourself are always the hardest. If I had to say it in four words, I would say: logical, detailed, diverse, and inspired.
Q: What do you like most about LaunchDM so far? Besides the team, of course.
A: I absolutely love the atmosphere in here. It’s fun, it’s calming, and it’s inspiring. I think I’m going to feel right at home!
