Social Media Optimization (SMO) in San Francisco by LaunchDM: We’re in it everyday, understand it and embrace it as a necessary component of almost any company’s web presence. That doesn’t mean sticking a Twitter icon on your home page and, voila!, you’re in business. What good’s a link to your Twitter/Facebook/myspace page if there’s nothing there? If you choose to incorporate social media into your marketing plan it becomes a major piece of your communication package or you simply shouldn’t do it.
The official industry term is “social media optimization,” or SMO, which really just means getting as much traffic to your web content (brand) as possible.
